Hi all,

what did you tell your manager you was off with when you needed sick days ?
I work in HR so I can’t just tell my manager pregnancy because it’ll be noted as pregnancy and I really don’t want to tell the team yet.

I need some realistic excuses as I never take sick days off but in my first pregnancy I took a whole week off for ( low blood pressure ).

If you want the sick days to be counted as pregnancy related and not able to be held against you then you should tell them youre pregnant. How long will you need off?

Just say sickness, does it need further explanation?

Once you’re ready to tell people you can explain that any episodes previously were related but you could always say you didn’t know at that point.

I would just say stomach bug or bad flu, both are doing the rounds. I get why you don't want to tell yet but what is the sickness for? I know pregnancy but is it tiredness, morning sickness, blood pressure, etc? If it's something that could be on going you'll be better just saying now
