13 weeks and back sleeping

im 13 weeks which obviously is still quite early so I’m not sure if the advice not to sleep on your back really applies yet but asking anyway!

I always go to sleep on my side but I end up on my back and I’m a bit concerned as I have no control over this and I know in the second and third trimester this is not recommended.

Would a pregnancy pillow help this? Do I need to be concerned about back sleeping at 13 weeks?

thanks!

Don’t worry until I think around 28 weeks. And when you get heavily pregnant I find that I just can’t sleep on my back as it’s so uncomfortable.

i bought a massive pregnancy pillow which is great and very comfortable until I got very heavily pregnant and found I got too hot plus because it’s so comfortable and secure you’re more likely to end up on your back.

now at 36 weeks I use two normal pillows to cuddle …one for my arms and one for my legs and because there is no support on my other side I don’t end up sleeping on my back

How long has this advice been about. I had 4 kids years ago never heard of this before.

I’m FTM so don’t know but midwife and literature you’re now given says there is a link between still birth and laying on your back.
I think there is a lot of scaremongering
