Hello. I am 14 weeks pregnant . Today I was told my placenta is at the back so posterior I believe is the term. I am told this is normal . I have been reading some pretty scary things around linked to still birth?? Sorry this is my first pregnancy so I am just highly anxious . Anyone else had experience of the placenta at back? And is everything ok?

The vast majority are posterior, not sure where you're getting your horror stories from but it's totally fine. As an added bonus you'll probably feel your baby's kicks better than it it was anterior. Good luck with your pregnancy.

As above.

Yep! As previous posters said, placenta at the back is absolutely fine, mine was at the back on the right and baby is perfect! I think I remember reading that if the placenta is up high and the cord could be shorter than normal then it could be dangerous when they turn head down, or they struggle to turn head down, it’s rare, but that’s what ultrasounds are for! Trust your pregnancy and birth team, they do this everyday 💕 Good luck!
