Hi All, I am 39 and 13 weeks into my 3rd pregnancy. Following screening , I have been told our third baby has a 1 in 2 risk of having Down's Syndrome. My screening showed:

PAPP-A : 0.25 Mom
HCGb: 4.23 Mom
NT: 2.7

I am obviously worried sick and had a NPIT blood test today. Wanted to know if any one had similar stats to mine and what your experience was.

TIA

Or the baby did have Downs syndrome and was still fucking brilliant.

hooray! 🙌 so glad someone said this

I had the same risk 1:2 - but also had physical markers of t21 on 12 week scan. Because of the physical markers as well I decided not to have nipt and to go straight to cvs which confirmed baby did have t21. I had a termination for medical reasons at 17 weeks. Sorry I know that’s probably not the news you want to hear. The ARC charity helpline was an absolute lifeline during those difficult weeks and I really recommend reaching out to them if you haven’t already. Wishing you all the best.

So sorry you’re going through this. I’ve been in a similar position (but also very different) and all ended up being okay for me, I pray you have the same outcome ❤️

I’m sorry you’re in this position OP. The wait is so awful. My risk factor was 1 in 50 but the NIPT came back low risk. The results took much less time than the 7 working days, I had the test Thursday and got them back Wednesday lunchtime. Be kind to yourself it’s an awful time.

Hi All. Got my NIPT results and came back as high risk. Thank you to all for sharing your experiences

Sorry to hear this. Will you have more testing now? Or have they confirmed t21?

Toothdoctor · 30/07/2025 17:48

Yes, I have decided to go with amniocentesis but have to wait until I am closer to 16 weeks.

If it helps even a tiny bit, I had amniocentesis and the procedure itself is fine. Thinking of you OP; I know how hard it is.
