Hello, looking for some experiences if possible. I was diagnosed privately last year with Hashimoto’s, all my numbers are pretty low but too high to be normal.

My TSH was 1.5 shortly before I got pregnant, this was on a pattern of:

Day 1 - 25mg thyroxine
Day 2 - 50mg thyroxine

On getting a positive test I increased to 50mg each day, but this is purely from research I’ve done, my doctors could not be less interested as none of my results were ever clinically concerning to them.

I managed to get a test for TSH rested next week but I’ll be 8 weeks then, could anyone who has been through similar let me know how quickly TSH ramps up in early pregnancy and how they changed their medication levels?

It’s a long time ago but it can ramp up quickly, I think mine was under 2 around time I conceived and already over 10 at around 8 weeks. It was a good idea to increase dose, I guess you’ll have to see.

my dose was increased to 100mcg but was still high at 12 weeks so it was increased to 150mcg!

Oh wow really?! My doctors were pretty convinced I was fine as levels were good just before I got pregnant. Was your TSH really out of range on diagnosis pre pregnancy?

I was diagnosed when TTC, and started on 50mcg. It was fine when tested around time I conceived (obvs didn’t know I was pregnant!) but not fine at 8 weeks. Either way my DD is 21 and got 3A*s in her A levels, so I don’t think the slightly elevated TSH for a few weeks did any harm!!

The hospital insisted on monthly TSH tests throughout each of my three pregnancies.
