Sterilising and storing plastic cups for colostrum harvesting

Hello! I've started harvesting colostrum but finding it fiddly with the syringes, saw advice to use a small plastic cup to collect instead - has anyone done this, and if so how did you keep the empty cups sterile until use?

You can get small breastmilk bottles that are sterile packed when you get them. They're the ones that attach onto the hospital pump. Not sure if the hospital would give them out to you but Id say you can get them online.

In my colostrum collecting kit from the midwife I was given a cup to collect the colostrum in, I then syringe it from there, it’s so much easier. I would ask your midwife if she has any.

As for sterilising, each time after I’ve collected colostrum I’ve been washing the cup and then sterilising it in the steriliser we’ve bought for our baby bottles etc before using the cups to collect colostrum again.
