Sinusitis and black eyes!

Hi, I had RSV last week, followed by awful, painful, sinusitis. I'm pregnant also. It won't shift and is super painful. Maybe I've had it for 5 days now. If I exert myself (walk to the shops, or talk too much) it throbs and feels so much worse. Now after spending the morning on a playdate it's throbbing again and so painful. I'm about to use a saline rinse.

Now my husband has come home and said I have a blue line under each eye. It's freaking me out. I've read that it's rare for it to become bacterial, and the Dr told me this morning that I just need to try all the traditional remedies as I'm pregnant so can't take anything else. He didn't seem to think it was bacterial.

Has anyone else had this? How long before it went away? And can you suggest any remedies? Honestly, if someone said I can either have 24 hours of labour contractions, or 7-10 days of sinusitis, I would opt for the labour.

Oh yes also I was thinking of taking a steroid spray, google says it's safe in pregnancy, so has anyone used this?

Hey @Hedgehogbrown I’m usually a lurker but wanted to reply as I’m currently also suffering from sinusitis in pregnancy - followed a similar path to you but then ended up on IV antibiotics and oral steroids. There are safe nasal sprays, if your GP can’t/won’t help could you try going via your midwife for hospital advice? I hope you get some relief!
