18dpo line progression worry

EMDLK93 · 21/07/2025 05:21

This is my 3rd pregnancy after 2 previous losses. My first pregnancy got a dye stealer really quick. My second was a chemical. I know I ovulated a bit later and possibly implanted later in this pregnancy but I’m still worried about my line progression. I am currently 18/19dpo and think my lines should be stronger? Any positive stories from people whose lines looked similar. My doc is on annual leave so can’t get blood work atm. X

I have seen soooo many of these test strips tests like this. They're not great for progression because their sensitivity is usually a bit lower. Also important not to compare wet vs dry as they fade the older they get. The strips look good, most recent looks very positive so try not to worry.

Thanks so much. I’m trying not to worry and to stop testing. The tests have just plateaued over the past few days so I’m hoping they maybe just are as dark as they are going to get. I have a scan booked in 2 weeks so I’m going to try and wait until the scan x

I mean this in the nicest way, but line progression means jack sh*.
I've tests with super dark lines that ended in mcs, I've had tests with super light lines that didn't get dark at all end in a live birth, I've had tests that have continued to show positives even after passing sac and embryo.
I've learnt to not trust them beyond it telling me I've had hcg in my system.
It's super hard, and super nerve wracking to have to wait, but (for me at least) deciding to put the tests strips down at 5 weeks is the only way I can get through to a scan date.

Yours do however look like they've gotten as dark as they're going to get for now, here is to hoping for one that grows wells 🤞

Thank you so much for your reply. I’m trying to tell myself this too and my anxiety and constant doom scrolling watching other people’s isn’t good for me either. I’m going to try and relax and be as healthy as I can be until the scan. Thanks again x

Oh the comparison and doom scrolling is even worse.
The ttc journey is so wild and so not good for our mental health!
How are you feeling otherwise? The first trimester "is the normal" to every twinge is the absolute worst
You got much on over the next few months to keep busy?

I’m feeling ok. I am on progesterone and aspirin due to the losses. My boobs are tender and I’m very tired but no major nausea or anything yet.(which I’m also panicked about lol). I’m a teacher off for summer with no plans at the moment so having lots of time to think isn’t great! 😂😂😂 I need a hobby

I used the same brand of test as you in my current pregnancy. The lines looked exactly like yours do. I never got a "dye stealer" with them (or any other test this pregnancy). I was very anxious because of this as I could only find negative stories online but I'm now 17 weeks pregnant and everything is looking good so far.
I was much more reassured after an early scan and wish I had stopped testing as it was the cause of a lot of anxiety. I hope the next two weeks before your scan pass by quickly for you - all of the waiting in early pregnancy is very difficult!

I agree with earlier posters - the last test shows a good strong line and you can’t rely fully on line strength anyway.

It’s a little too early for nausea so don’t worry about that! Good luck when it comes 🤢

Let us know how you are doing in a couple of weeks.

Thanks for the reply and massive congratulations on your pregnancy! That’s good to know about the tests I’m using and that’s so reassuring so thank you 🥰
