Implantation bleed - faint line then BFN

Hi! I’m really confused and I usually just look at threads but haven’t seen anything on this. I had a light bleed day after AF due (I’m always regular heavy 2nd day and bleed 4 days) this time I assumed AF arrived late, felt extremely nauseas almost like motion sickness that night then the next day nothing. Took some tests as gp mentioned sounds like early preg but did say to wait before testing and very very faint lines. Had a bit of brown cm when wiping the next two days then tested a few more times and still faint but appeared a bit darker. Then today (3 days after initial “bleed”) had a bit more brown when wiping but I’ve had a BFN. Still feel nauseas and BBT still elevated. Any ideas?? I’m so confused. I had a chemical earlier this year so worried it’s that again. Thank you!

I'm really sorry, I think it's a chemical. Implantation bleeding happens several days before your period is due, and while those are positive I'd expect them to be stronger if your dates are right.

Thank you. I did think so also I think I was being optimistic - also i did get a bfn before the bleed and only got the first line the day after the bleed which was on Thursday and got stronger slightly Friday and Saturday. I’ll speak to my GP and confirm. Very frustrating

I also thought implantation bleeding happens around the time period is due?? Maybe I’m just clutching at straws but I did ovulate between 4th-8th (dates I’m not 100% sure of)

I’ve lost count of the amount of times I’ve thought I had implantation bleeding but it wasn’t.

Wouldn’t have thought it was if it was a normal period but it wasn’t and then I had 5 positive faint lines. Bleeding stopped before I took the tests then just had brown discharge so just very confused

No, it's normally around 7 dpo ish. So at least a few days clear of having a period. It's worth noting though that if your luteal phase is less than 10 days your body basically doesn't have a chance to learn it's pregnant and not have a period, so if that fits you might need progesterone suppositories to stop your body kicking out and actual pregnancy. It's so hard, with my chemical I tested positive and started bleeding the same day - gut wrenching.

Ah okay! Been using dr google and some conflicting information. That same thing happened to me in April - it’s horrible as although short lived, got my hopes up! I’ll speak to my GP, have some bloods and see what’s happened here. I’ve not had any issues with ovulation or periods before so hopefully this is just another blip!

I had spotting the night before my period was due for my successful cycle. I was 99% sure my period was coming because it looked exacrly my pre-period spotting which I get almost every month. The next day I tested positive and no more spotting. Not sure if it was implantation bleed but that’s what the midwife suspected when I let her know about the spotting. I don’t want to give you false hope but just sharing my experience. Good luck OP.

Thank you so much. This is a very odd situation for me and I’ve had 5 positives but also a few negatives so I’m in limbo! My Dr did mention it sounds like late implantation and indicated I should wait a week to test. I’ll see what the outcome is in a few days
