Pregnant with Baby No. 2

Hi there, last Monday I found out that I'm pregnant again. My husband and I have a 15 month old boy. This pregnancy is a surprise, we were hoping to get pregnant closer to when our son is 2. We'll have a 23 month old (or 24 month old - depending on when this baby's born) and a newborn, so I'm nervous. I know 2 years is not a tiny age difference, but I know some 2 year olds and some of them still seem quite baby like. If you have any advice or encouragement that would be appreciated. Also, any tips on how to take care of a one year old while pregnant I would also appreciate that. Fatigue is already kicking in, hopefully nausea will hold off for another while 🙏🏻 Thanks!

I dont have any advice but I'm currently pregnant with due date set for Feb with a 4 year old boy and I'm also concerned how I will cope because right now he is full on!!

Just jumping on her not to give any advice but I found out on Tuesday that I am pregnant and my daughter just turned 1. If all goes well there will be 20 months between my babies. This was a very much wanted pregnancy as I have PCOS and my daughter was an IVF pregnancy. I have suffered miscarriage and this time round it was a spontaneous pregnancy however, if I was not worried about my fertility problems I would probably have given myself more time between babies. I am also worried about the struggle and balancing it all. I am due to return to work in a few weeks and I finally got a creche spot for my daughter. I cannot give up that spot or I will lose it so once I hopefully have baby number 2 I will keep my daughter in creche full time for the first 12 weeks and then reduce her down to 3 days a week so I have some breathing space. We are also hoping my husband can take 6 weeks off post birth. I will have to have a C-section once again. Other than that I am in denial!! I have nephews with a close age gap who are now 5&3. They keep each other so entertained my sister has much more time back now!

Congratulations! I have 27 months between my eldest two. On the whole I really enjoy the gap - similar interests, bath times together and easy days out. There were a few tough moments in the early days of toddler tantrums and a little baby, but mainly I remember it as a really happy time. Every age gap has its pros and cons; I have almost 4 years between my second and third child and in some respects I find that tougher, as I was out of the baby stage and had to go back to it. When baby arrives you soon won't be able to imagine it any other way. You'll be fine.

As for tips, get a good baby carrier. And do whatever you need to do to make life easier, such as dummies and swing chairs. Depending on baby's temperament of course.
If you're able to put the elder in childcare for a couple of days a week still then that's a big help too.
