Hi everyone. I'm hoping to get some opinions from women who have been in similar situations... This post might be TMI for some, so warning!
This might be a bit hard to follow and it's a bit long (sorry).
I'm 5w6d today. On Monday (5w1d) I started spotting dark brown. Tuesday (5w2d) I had been at work and when I got home around 2.30 I had red bleeding and some mild cramping. I scheduled an ultrasound for 5pm. The bleeding stopped after about an hour but brown spotting continued. The ultrasound showed a GS measuring about 5 and a half weeks, and a yolk sac but not fetal pole. They didn't see a subchorionic or any other reason for the bleed but they did see a fibroid I didn't know I had.
The bleeding seemed to taper off after that but then two days later (5w4d) I had a gush of red blood, again in the afternoon around 3.30pm, with lower back pain and some sharp tugging feelings. I had been sitting for a while (2-3 hours). I bled for about an hour and then it trailed off and turned brown again and just spotting. The same thing happened again the following day (yesterday - 5w5d). Again, I had been sitting at my desk for a pretty long time then had a big gush of red at about 4pm together with the sharp pain in the same spot. Again, it tapered off quite quickly and now it's just very light in amount and dark brown.
I had an hcg draw at 4w5d and it was kinda low at 356. Following the scan I had another one at 5w3d and it was 1613 (an average of 83% increase each 48 hours). I had my hcg drawn again yesterday (5w5d) and am waiting for the results. Am so scared they'll have slowed or stopped altogether.
The EPU can't see me until Monday (6w1d). GP is rubbish and just tells me to wait it out. All these blood tests have been ordered by me. I'm on progesterone pessaries but I don't think the amount of blood I've seen could be caused just by irritation. I had a miscarriage previously at 6w4d but this seems different. I didn't have the random bleeding. When I started proper bleeding that time I didn't stop.
Has anyone been through anything similar?
