HCG Levels

Hi,
I’ve gone into panic mode, on the 16th I done a clear blue and it was showing 3+ (finally) I went to a&e on the 17th due to some spotting and they done blood tests showing my HCG level was 1360. I’ve done another clear blue on 18th with second urine of the day and it’s back down to 2-3, does this mean my HCG levels were high on the 17th and they’ve dropped and that’s why my levels are 1360? Let me hear other peoples stories please!
for Reference I thought I was 6 weeks 3 days but I could be earlier due to irregular cycle

There’s no way to know without another blood test unfortunately. This is why single HCG blood tests aren’t very useful other than just confirming you are pregnant at that moment. You really need two HCG blood tests 48 hours apart to check it is rising/doubling appropriately.

There are loads of stories online about clear blue digitals being crap for the weeks part. Some people’s go up and down. Others never get past 2-3 weeks etc. And they all go on to have healthy pregnancies. Some people it can indicate a loss. But it’s not guaranteed at all with those tests. So I wouldn’t use the test as an indicator of progression or otherwise.

Thank you, I’ve been called by the pregnancy unit on Monday to go in for a scan so hopefully they will do my HCG levels again aswell.
