Has my water broke after my bath?

I just had a long bath (1 hour) and could tell I was having a small wee whilst in it…

baby was kicking around super active in my tummy -
then when I stood up slowly to get out of bath a clear steady stream of liquid came out that really didn’t look like wee. Didn’t smell like wee either.

im 36 weeks + 1 day - just asked midwife if i should come in and she said put a pad on and see if it goes wet in the next hour, if it does I should go in?

has this happened to anyone? Advice! Ahh!

I’ve seen this happen before, It’s probably just bath water. Sometimes the vagina can fill with bath water while you’re in the bath and then when you get out it all comes out in one go if that makes sense? If it is your waters, then it will likely continue to drain so if the pad is wet after an hour, then you do need to go in to be checked just to be safe

Yep, bath water. I remember this panic getting out of a swimming pool when heavily pregnant!

If you do find the pad is wet and you go in they have a really simple test they can do to check whether it’s amniotic fluid or not. It works just like a pregnancy test or a Covid test - a few drops on test strip and they know the answer in a couple of minutes.
