12 year age gap between siblings

I just want to know people experience of having a 12 year age gap between children my son is 11 with autism but will be 12 when this baby is born..im scared my son won't take to the baby or they won't grow up close.my son is very young in the head he still calls me mummy.i just want advice and people experience of this

Try social stories with him before babies arrival to help him understand what’s happening. Changes as you know can be difficult for autistic children but, if your son is anything like my son (15 and autistic) he’ll be an amazing big brother. My son is also quite immature and, is amazing with younger children/ babies. Make sure he feels involved and, has lots of little jobs he can help with when baby arrives. I think he’ll love being an older brother.
