Not sure about midwife

Hello,

I've never posted on here before so please be kind!
I am currently 36 weeks pregnant and I'm not sure if I should be a bit miffed at my midwife.
My waters broke prematurely at 32 weeks. The doctors at the hospital said I'd had an infection which could have been the cause. They asked if I'd had any antibiotics for them and I said no I hadn't.
The infection was around the same time as my last midwife appointment and she did ask if I'd had any UTI symptoms but I hadn't so I guess that's why she didn't prescribe antibiotics. She asked me this on the last two appointments I had with her. She also said both times that there was protein in my urine but I'm not sure if that's relevant.
I was also supposed to have testing done for gestational diabetes but this was never arranged and now I'm having to do glucose monitoring 4 x a day in the last few days of pregnancy before being induced. I did mention it again but it still wasn't arranged for me to be tested until this week. I understand the reasons for the testing but it's just another added stress to what has been a very difficult pregnancy (I've had other issues and scares throughout the pregnancy) which potentially could have been avoided if things had been put into place sooner.
i understand the pressures on the NHS but this is my life, my body and the life of the baby. I guess I'm just feeling a bit let down as the midwife I had for my previous pregnancy was amazing and on the ball.
As I said at the start, please be kind in your replies as I'm very hormonal at the moment 🙈 and I know I'm probably just being extra dramatic

Hi
Sorry this happend to you.
Midwives have a clear guidelines for when to refer someone for UTI testing. If you haven't been referred, it would've been because you had no symptoms etc.
Protein in urine can but does not always mean a UTI.

So in terms of the infection, I think she's done things by the book.

Hope all goes well for you 💕

Not sure how to reply on here but thank you for responding.
What you said makes sense, so I think I'll just leave it at that. She's a lovely lady, just trying to make sense of everything.
And thank you, fingers crossed all goes ok!
