Are internal scans safe if you have low lying cervix?

morning,

I have a scan (assuming internal) booked for Friday and I will be 6+2. It is a reassurance scan in the EPAU due to previous losses.

my cervix is very long at the moment (it hasn’t caused a problem so far and I’m on progesterone pessaries so I think perhaps that’s why it’s long?) I’m just wondering if it is safe for them to be using the dildo cam? In previous experiences they just put it in not considering how far in your cervix is. I’m very worried they will jab it right into my cervical opening.

tia for any reassurance and answers x

It doesnt actually go that far in. They dont go up to the cervix to do the internal scan.
So i think you should be absolutely fine, but if you want to mention this to them at the scan they will help give you reassurance re scanning with a short cervix!
