Hey all
We have history of miscarriage
Currently 5 wks preg
With ivf pregnancy.

Currently on metformin

Any successful stories of coming off metformin @ 12 wks & getting to live birth ?

Such a nervous time

Pregnancy after loss = tricky.

Hello, congratulations!

I've heard of cyclogest until 12 weeks, but coming off metformin at 12 weeks doesn't seem to make sense? What reason did they give for it?

Will ask my consultant in due course

I know others with pcos and who were told to come off it @ 12 wks & had a live birth

Im not diabetic

I went on it to help with conception attenpts and then ivf

We ended up with top Quality embryo s

  • metformin played a role in that

I stayed on metformin all the way til the end in my second pregnancy. Came off it as recommended by a doc on the first, resulted in a miscarriage. Probably was coincidental, but it made me stick on it for the second and he's two now. Pregnancy after loss is so tough, especially with PCOS, all the best! X

I think quite early, I can't quite remember - I had a missed miscarriage that wasn't found until 12 weeks, stopped growing at ten weeks.

The second time around I thought what had I got to lose keeping taking it until the end. I did some research and there was a bit on higher BMI in the child but my two year old is incredibly tall and lanky, so all good on that front!

I also thought, they prescribed it for gestational diabetes so I can't be bad to keep taking it.

Obviously caveats that I'm not a doctor etc.

Were your pregnancies IVF? If so - dya mind me asking if u tested your embryos ?

I had 5 miscarriages and then got referred to Tommys who prescribed me with Metformin and that gave me my daughter. I was on it until 16 weeks and never had any trouble following, gave birth at 39 weeks ☺️ good luck!
