How long after BFP to book viability scan?

Evening,

As the title says really how long after your BFP did you have an early viability scan?
I have no idea on dates as I haven’t had a cycle since my MC at the start of March and never had even a whiff of a peak OPK. But low and behold I got my BFP.

I have to go into medication as soon as possible once a viable pregnancy is confirmed. I have booked a scan for 3 weeks after my BFP does this sound okay? By my maths this should make me around 6.5 weeks? The day I got my BFP it was fairly faint but there so must have been somewhere between 9-12dpo.

Thankyou x

Yes around six weeks is the earliest I think. Good luck!

6 weeks earliest - my EPAU won't scan until 7 weeks if at all possible as there's a much greater chance of the heartbeat being there, where as at 6 weeks it may just not be developed yet, and having a scan with no heartbeat can be unnecessarily stressful just because it's too early. I'd recommend waiting for 7 weeks if you can.

Thanks both - I think because I have no idea of LMP or ovulation I’m having to purely guess from when I got my BFP and I’m so anxious it will be too early x

I didn't have a period between my miscarriage and current pregnancy and hadn't been tracking ovulation so had no idea how pregnant I was when I got my positive test. It was 2 months after my miscarriage that I tested. I had a 3+ on a clear blue so over 5 weeks was my best guess.
I called the epu and they got me in to have my HCG measured to estimate when would be a good time to scan me. My HCG was 130,000 so they got me in for a scan the next day and I was 8+3 and they started me on progesterone.

I’d say whatever works out as 6 weeks from your LMP, add an extra week. Hard waiting that extra week but better than being slightly earlier than expected and not seeing anything! Congratulations.

Mine was at 7 weeks after IVF, I think waiting that little bit longer means you can see the heartbeat and fetal pole. Best of luck 🤞
