After a traumatic 2 years of secondary infertility and 2 losses, I had a scan today at exactly 5 weeks pregnant. This was to rule out ectopic - I had a pregnancy of unknown location last year.
At the scan a sac and yolk were found in a perfect place in womb and I had about 5 minutes of glorious happiness until the sonographer said there was a section on the ovary I had ovulated from that she couldn’t 100% confirm wasn’t an ovarian ectopic. She seemed confident it wasn’t but wants to monitor it. She said heterotopic pregnancies are rare and for one to be the it ovary even rarer.
I have polycystic ovaries and at a scan a few months ago to investigate possible PCOS I did have a cyst on this ovary. I’m wondering if that could be what was seen - I don’t know how long cysts hang around for. I’m going back next week for another scan.
Has anyone else been through anything similar? I’m absolutely sick with anxiety.
