Baby’s Head Measuring Small 32+5

Had 32 week growth scan yesterday and have been referred to FMU - I just wanted to know if anyone’s had anything similar and all was okay, I’ve not stopped crying. I thought we’d got through at least one pregnancy safely but seemingly not.

It showed fetal growth less than 10th centile, fetal weight 2.2 centile but the concern was her head which is on the 1st centile.

Blood pressure was okay and they took blood tests - her screenings were clear at the start and her anomaly scan was fine. She was breech at the scan so I’m just hoping the measurements were down to being in an awkward position.

Sorry you’re going through this, how stressful. Did they do some Doppler blood flow measurements? Usually when baby is small the Dopplers decide whether he/she would need to be born early. And were both the head circumference and the biparietal diameter (BPD) on the 1st centile, or just the BPD? Because often breech babies have BPD which is a bit smaller, just due to the position, without that being a separate concern.

lots of the time this sort of thing turns out to be fine but of course you need a bit more information to know what’s going on. hopefully you’ll get an appointment with FMU soon and they can clarify everything for you and make a good plan - best of luck.

it says on the report ‘ the amniotic fluid and UA Doppler studies are within normal range ‘ - I did phone up to try and speak to someone this morning but to no avail really.

They said to ring back press option 4. So I rang back pressed option 4 they answered. They told me to ring back press option 3. So rang on option 3 stayed on hold 35 mins they told me to ring back press option 1. So rang back on option 1 and they said they’d be in touch in due course so I guess it’s just a case of waiting
