Struggling to find much online, would love to hear anyone’s experiences with them?

Hi sorry don't have first hand experience, but I am due to be induced this weekend and one of the options are the rods where you get to go home for the night after they are inserted, or start with the gel where you stay an inpatient. Consultant said most people opt for rods, as I think they see the appeal of going home, but she says it overall often takes longer than going straight to hormones. A friend had the rods and said it was awful, but other option doesn't seem great either. I opted for rods, not sure I've made right choice but guess I'll find out (unless I go into spontaneous labour first -fingers crossed).

I had rods and they were absolutely fine going in. Annoyingly they did fall out about half way through but I think they sort of acted like a sweep as I did start having contractions that night. I was delighted to have avoided hormones and I’d definitely have them again. Annoyingly I wasn’t allowed home but that would have been even better. Good luck both!
