Could I be approaching labour?

I am only 38+3 weeks, the past few days I’ve been exhausted, I had to have a nap yesterday and today with my toddler because I couldn’t stay awake. I have had awful nausea today, needing the toilet more than ever, some slight stomach pains, very very mild period type cramps, cramp in my calf muscle, all these symptoms have come out of nowhere since yesterday. I haven’t had the usual mucus show, waters break etc and certainly no contractions yet but was wondering could this mean I am very close, like maybe a few days away?

Certainly sounds like your body is gearing up which is encouraging but there’s no way to tell if it could be hours, days or weeks.

I've got a lot of these symptoms at 35 weeks but I don't think we're gearing up for labour yet... (hope not anyway)... but who knows??

It's pretty normal to be tired at this stage though, and I think Braxton Hicks, leg cramping etc can definitely increase later on, it doesn't necessarily mean labour.

But you'll know within a few weeks either way!! Good luck x

I’d phone triage to check you don’t have a UTI with those symptoms that will need treating today

I got these symptoms at 36 weeks, by 38 I felt completely normal full of energy and no pain, I shortly went into labour after a few days
