12 week scan. Normal?

When I look at pictures of others 12 week scans there is a lot of dark void space around the baby with clear defined edges. Mine is surrounded by white, with no clear definition of uterus. Why would this be?

Sorry to ask this question, but are you overweight? If you have a lot of fat around the abdomen it is hard to gain a clear picture through ultrasound.
it can also be due to babies position.
congratulations on your pregnancy. If there was anything to be concerned about the sonography would have had someone to speak with you.

Hey this was mine at 13 weeks, and she’s now a healthy 10 month old :) I think sometimes I depends on quality of the scan/fluid x

@MoserRothOrangeandAlmond
I did wonder if this could be the case. I am not massively overweight but I do hold some of my weight in my belly.

As far as they told me all was well. It was just after when I began comparing to others 12 week scans I noticed the defined uterus cavity in comparison.
I am short too so perhaps that also plays a part.

Were you dehydrated?? Sure I’ve heard that if you drink lots of water you get a better defined scan?
