Hi, so I'm 31 weeks and my baby's stomach is measuring too big and I've got too much fluid because I've got gestational diabetes , no one seems to be bothered by this other than me and it's really stressing me out. There's been no plan put in place about what to do regarding delivery when the time comes and I don't know what to do. I don't want a c section at all but think they're going to push for one, I was wondering if anyone else has opted for a vaginal birth and what the outcome was whether it be good or bad. My diabetes is diet controlled but every scan I have her belly gets bigger and the fluid gets higher, I'm trying to get an appointment with a consultant to speak about everything but not having much luck.

Hi, I had gestational diabetes in my last pregnancy (I can’t comment on the fluid) but mine was also diet controlled. C-section was discussed but I said I wanted to try vaginally which they were actually really happy about. I was offered an induction but I was 39+6. You can ask for an induction. I had a vaginal delivery which went very smoothly and she weighed 8lb 4oz :) if you can’t get through to your consultant ask your midwife to contact them, this is what I had to do at one point in my pregnancy and she rang them while I was there. Hope this helps x
