Bleeding on / off

Hi ladies!

I’m 4 weeks / 14 DPO today and found out I was pregnant at 8 DPO.

My lines have progressed really well. On 10-12 DPO I had light pink / orange / brown spotting. Spots on underwear and when wiping. This then disappeared for two days and has this afternoon reappeared.

Its sending my anxiety through the roof 😞 We’ve had two losses in this TTC experience so far (ttc for baby 4) and I’m worried this is about to be the same too.

Ive had very mild back / cramps the entire time.
Whats going on? 😫

I didn't want to read and run. It's so hard to say atm unfortunately, you're so early. It could be implantation bleeding, bleeding caused by an irritated cervix (usually post sex or poo), and possibly an early loss.

Mild back pain and cramps can be completely normal. I've had both along with intermittent bleeding until 22 weeks.

Either contact your EPU if you're able to self refer or the gp. You can at least have a blood draw to check of you're numbers are moving the right direction. If not go private. The cost vs peace of mind is invaluable in my opinion. A scan won't necessarily pick anything up until 6 weeks and most places won't scan before then.

It’s such a whirlwind isn’t it. I bled in both my losses and my three healthy pregnancies so you think I’d relax but I just can’t! I think because the losses have been back to back I just feel it’s almost inevitable!

My epu have said to test again at the end of next week and if it’s positive they’ll book a six week scan.

I’m currently about 10/11 weeks and have had intermittent bleeding. It’s horrible. I’ve had 2 early scans to help settle my anxiety. At my NHS early scan I was measuring at8 weeks and they saw a bleed site on the scan which had helped reassure me. I’m also sick as a dog with constant nausea! If you’re past 6 weeks, I’d definitely say to get in touch with your midwife/EPU and ask for an early scan due to bleeding.

Couldn’t read and run, hopefully it’s implantation bleeding and baby is fine but totally understand the anxiety. Try your hardest to relax, warm bath and try not to over think. I know that’s near on impossible tho. I’m currently 10 weeks my booking app is Sat but I’ve had bleeding past three days and am scared shitless!! I’ve had a stillborn and miscarriage at nine weeks before so can’t stop worrying. My scan app isn’t until end of the month so went to gp and they referred me to EPU tomorrow. Should be getting scan to see if heartbeat is there. Will be thinking of you tho @MamaZo1301 and fingers crossed for positive at the end of the week and an early scan to put your mind at ease!

Ah I’m sorry to hear that! But glad everything is okay 🤍
I had bleeding with my previous successful pregnancies and my losses so you think I’d get it by now but the losses are looming over my brain too much.

Unfortunately I’m only 4 weeks so they won’t see me for two weeks which I understand. Counting down and hoping for the best.

@MamaZo1301If you’ve had previous losses and are experiencing bleeding in a current pregnancy, you may be prescribed progesterone.

I had a missed miscarriage at 9 weeks, during which I experienced some bleeding throughout. When I became pregnant again, I started bleeding once more. After confirming the baby was in the right place, I was prescribed progesterone. I’m now almost 36 weeks pregnant, so it definitely worked for me!

I actually ended up going to a&e with the bleeding and emergency gynaecology scanned me and prescribed the progesterone. I did initially ring the EPU but they said they wouldn’t see me until I was 6 weeks. Emergency gynaecology at first just took my hcg bloods to ensuring it was doubling as I was only around 4 weeks. Then I went back at 5+2 with more bleeding and some pain so they scanned me. I know it sounds extreme going to a&e but it took us 18 months to get pregnant again after the missed miscarriage, so I was pretty desperate as I didn’t know when we’d get another chance if the worst happened again.

@MamaZo1301 So had my scan and looks like baby stopped growing at six weeks but they can’t confirm for another week 😔
