Window to the Womb experiences?

Im 6 weeks 4 days pregnant today! I had a NHS scan at the early pregnancy unit 2 days ago because I had some spotting and had previous miscarriage so they wanted to see me (they’ve said I have a subchoronic hematoma). During this appointment I didn’t hear the heart beat but I could see it and they said the rate was 113bpm.

I want to go to Windows to the Womb for another ultrasound at 8 weeks 4 days just for reassurance to see growth as I had a missed miscarriage earlier in the year and I had a good ultrasound at 6 weeks but no growth at 8 weeks (ultimately had to do medical management at 10 weeks as my body wasn’t passing it on its own). I also want to keep an eye on the SCH to make sure that is not getting bigger.

How was other people’s experiences at Window to the Womb in regards to measurements and heart rate. I went to Windows of the Womb for my first pregnancy at 6 week and we could see the heart beat but they didn’t give me a heart rate and I would ideally like to know. Any advice would be helpful!

Hi OP, I’ve had early scans at WTTW in both pregnancies between 7-10 weeks and they have never given me a heart rate. Their scans are good if you just want to check growth & to see that there IS a heartbeat but they are very basic and it doesn’t go beyond that really, it’s just is there a heartbeat and then measure for size so it may not be suitable for you.

As an aside though I would be wary of WTTW for you, I personally haven’t had a bad experience but I know that lots of people who sadly did not end up having a reassuring scan have come out and said that WTTW were not very supportive, weren’t a great help, and they were left really upset after their scans.

I had a good experience with the one in Bagshot. Heard heartbeat and was given a report of the scan which had it on there as well.

If ypu haven't maybe check ypur scan report?

My report from my last pregnancy using WTTW said there was a heartbeat but didn’t say the number. My recent NHS scan had the number so I would ideally like to see what is it to make sure it’s going up! Either way progression will be enough reassurance. Thanks for your response.
