Missed miscarriage 16wks

Hi

I had a private gender scan booked today. They couldn’t find a heartbeat and said baby passed at 15+5. Referred me to hospital where doctor and senior doctor scanned and confirmed the same.
awaiting the consultant plan now:
can anyone whose been in similar situation advise me what happens now? I’m really scared and anxious.
i had an ectopic 6 months ago and a miscarriage a year ago too. It’s my 4th miscarriage in total and I have 2 daughters at home so just want to know next steps.

Firstly I'm so sorry for your loss. I had a MMC at 12 weeks in 2023 followed by 2 chemicals.

Options for the MMC were medical management or a d&c. I tried the medical management in the first instance but it unfortunately failed and ultimately I ended up having the d&c 3 weeks later.
Not sure what options will be available as you were further along than me but generally in terms of recovery it was quite smooth, I definitely found the mental aspect worse than the physical and in my case I really struggled with it being dragged out the extra 3 weeks.

I didn't have to wait long to see the consultant so hopefully you will know more about the options available soon ❤️

Thank you and yes I will go in tomorrow for a last scan and have medication and then return 24-48 hours to deliver baby and placenta .. is it painful? How long will I be in hospital for ? X
