No weight gain (9 weeks) and baby measuring 4 days behind

Sorry about potentially stupid question but the first trimester is such an anxious time!

Im 9+4 going from the date of last period but when I went for an early scan the woman said I was measuring 4 days behind what I thought. She didn’t seem worried at all but it’s made me worried!

I also haven’t gained any weight whatsoever despite feeling horribly bloated in the evening and I’ve been a lot hungrier so snacking more than I usually would. (I’m 5 foot 4 and 9 stone)

My only symptoms have been some sickness and headaches occasionally, tiredness and feeling a bit fait at times.

Would you be concerned at all?

You won't gain any weight yet. I also wouldn't worry too much about the scan being 4 days behind. I had similar. It's because before the scan you base your due date on the day of your last period and it doesn't account for cycles that aren't the norm (28 days) when I was pregnant with my second my cycles were all over the place as I'd only just come off the pill so I think it was 35 days or something. Then when I had my scan I wasn't as far along as they thought because I didn't have a standard cycle. So once you have the scan they'll go by that date. The first date is just an estimate.
Also I had no pregnancy symptoms at all with my second, pregnancy symptoms can be reassuring but they don't mean a pregnancy is any more or less viable.
Anyway! I hope that ramble might help ease your mind! Good luck x

I didnt gain any weight until 14 weeks and then started gaining, i gained 2kg in 2 weeks😅
That sounds about right. Your LMP is just a guideline while you're still early.
I was 1 day behind at 7 weeks and 2 days ahead on 12 weeks scan.
I wouldnt be worried over that at all.

Edit: just to add, when i had my first 3 miscarriages i had sickness and dizziness and tiredness. Still miscarried with them.
This is my 4th and ive had barely any sickness maybe 2 days apposed to the constant sickness i had with my second and third pregnancies i had no sickness with my first and just been tired to the point i could nap in the afternoon and still fall asleep at 7 on the sofa.

Symptoms dont mean a thing when it comes to viability. Just stay cakm and try to relax!

to reassure you re measuring behind - I had a scan when I was exactly ten weeks and they measured me 9+1, got me very worried as I know my dates were correct. Was rescanned a few days later (it was for the NIPT and they wouldn’t take my bloods until I was measuring over ten weeks very annoying) and baby was measuring what I thought she should be. I think scans can just be quite inaccurate!

i don’t know about weight gain but I assume you’re not really meant to have put weight on by this stage. The embryo / fetus is minuscule !

It’s a while since I was at this stage - youngest is almost 13 - but I remember being told that scans could be 5 days out either way. Mine were conceived via fertility treatment so I knew exact conception & I remember the scan was exactly 5 days out on my now almost 18 year old! I know it’s almost impossible not to but I really wouldn’t worry. Good luck & try to enjoy this special time 🙂

Totally normal not to have gained any weight yet.

I also wouldn't worry too much about measuring four days behind. They're going off the date of your last period so your presumed date of ovulation might not be accurate, and measurements can be slightly out anyway. I think they say there is a margin of error of a week each way at this stage.

Was there a strong heartbeat?

You wouldn't expect to put on any weight yet. And I don't think measuring 4 days behind is concerning. So try to stop worrying.

I weighed 50kg pre pregnancy (8stone)
Didnt gain anything for first 20 weeks
Gained 20kg on the last 20 weeks.

Im 17 weeks and ive gained nothing yet. And babies growth isnt linear. I measured 1 week behind, then 6 days ahead.
