No period at 8 months pp but I want to start TTC in the next few months

I'm still waiting for my period to appear at 8 months pp. I had a very small about of spotting for a couple of days about 2 months ago and I was hopeful that would be the start of my period returning, but nothing since then. I do often feel crampy like I'm going to come on any day though.

I am still breastfeeding, which I know that can delay periods. Is there anything I can do to bring my period back, that isn't stopping breastfeeding?

Mine didn’t return until I stopped breastfeeding overnight. My son started sleeping all the way through and then a month or so later my period returned.
I’m not sure there’s a lot else you can do it they’ve not returned due to breastfeeding. The more feeds you drop the more likely your periods will return as it’s all hormonal.
However, you can ovulate before your periods return, so you might want to start ovulation testing to see if your body is even trying to ovulate at the moment.

Thank you. I thought that might be the answer, unfortunately. I'm still up 3 times a night breastfeeding so I think I'm a way off from her sleeping through. Just a waiting game, I guess.

I did buy some ovulation tests just the other day and took one last night. It was quite a dark line but not as dark as the control line, which I understand means negative. Does a fainter line mean that something is happening though?

Like pp, mine didn't come back until I stopped night feeding at 13months.
Both times.
They were still feeding /comfort feeding every 2 hours up until that point, and then within literal days of stopping they both slept through, and then that month my periods came back

You will always have some amount of LH in your system throughout the cycle, it can fluctuate between higher and lower and then obviously peaks at a very high in order for the egg to be released and all the other fun hormones to be triggered for conception and fertilisation
