Mr whippy - ice-cream van during pregnancy

Hi, so I didn't realise you weren't meant to eat Mr whippys during pregnancy. I'm 36 weeks, due my csection on Monday. I had an ice cream from the van outside the hospital after my pre op today and now worried I could of made my babies poorly.

I’ve never heard this? I just go off the NHS website and it doesn’t mention ice cream x

I'm sure you'll be fine. Avoid it from now on if you want though.

It’s due to risk of listeriosis (which I can’t spell) it’s not harmful to the baby in and of itself. So if you haven’t got food poisoning you’re fine.

One of my babies was made entirely of Crunchie Mc Flurries. She’s nearly 30 now and seems fine….

I wouldn’t worry over the one you’ve had, just avoid them from now on. I didn’t know this until my fourth baby, couldn’t believe it and I was looking forward to an ice cream too 😂

Mcflurries are different I believe as McDonalds machines are cleaned regularly

As the (actually helpful) PP says OP, if it hasn’t made you sick yet, you’re good.

Not supposed to because you can’t guarantee that they are cleaned regularly. I lived off Milkshakes at work because I knew the machine was cleaned everyday with a new milkshake mix put in every morning.
ETA: if you’re not sick you’re fine. Hope you enjoyed it.
