As the title suggests I’m struggling a bit with constipation at 9 weeks! I remeber being constipated during my first pregnancy but not until much further along and more as a side affect to iron tablets.

Im reluctant to take any laxatives but have my first midwife app on Monday so will ask then for advice but in the meantime looking for any suggestions. Do prunes really work? I bought a bag but they are grossšŸ˜…

I have a healthy diet and eat a lot of fruit and veg and also drink 2-3 litres of water a day.

2 kiwi fruit a day, preferably with skin on.
A table spoon of chia seeds stirred into a class of water and knocked back quickly before the seeds start soaking up the water.
Dates are also good.
Fybogel is just psyllium husks isn’t it, that’s safe to take daily during pregnancy, or you could just get plain psyllium husks to add to smoothies/water.

any, or preferably all, of the above daily will keep you regular.

Daily movicol is fine to take. If you already have a good diet then it should help quickly.

Disagree that simply having a healthy diet works. This implies that you’re not healthy.
hormones are strong and can mess up your body
the only thing that worked for me was Lactulose 3.3g/5ml Oral Solution
which you can get from the pharmacy and fine when pregnant
every other med did nothing
