Travelling at 34 weeks - any insurance policy tips?

Hi. DH and I would like to have week's holiday in the South of France. We would have gone before, but have just reached the point where other stuff is out the way. I'll be 34 weeks, so we'll probably go on the train rather than fly. I've had no complications so far, and got the all-clear medically from the GP. But I've read that most travel insurance policies won't cover up to then, maximum seems to be about 32 weeks. Anyone know of any policies that will cover me for the trip?

Cheers,

Phil

If you go through an insurance broker they should be able to get you cover. That's where I got mine for travel between 29 - 31 weeks to Carribean.

Phil, have you checked out the european health card? I live in France and I believe (would need checking) that the EHC will cover you for any emergency medical treatment that you may require in France.

Not sure about any other insurance cover though. Try google.

here's an old thread on it I've found for you, may be useful

Hey, that's great, thanks for the tips. Hoping to travel a bit sooner now, so perhaps it will be slightly easier to find something. EHC does cover for any emergency healthcare I think, but my GP advised travel insurance as well, and it would be more reassuring to have it. Anyway, it will be worth the extra effort to have a bit of relaxation for a week before it all kicks off!

Phil.
