First pregnancy - GDB anxiety

I’m 33 weeks with my first pregnancy and found out at 32 weeks I have gestational diabetes, which has been quite stressful to get my head around / change my diet / hear about how it may affect my birth plan.

I had a growth scan after this news which showed bubba at a “average size” so not too big and have another one at 36 weeks to determine his size and what my birth options will be.

I’m now on one tablet before dinner to reduce my blood sugar and testing my bloods every 2 hours after each meal…

feeling really anxious about my first experience of birth which I hoped to have a water birth at hospital - but consultant suggesting inducing me on my due date as potential risks involved if I don’t go into natural labour any time after.

from my own research and chatting to friends I’d rather not opt for an induction and so booked in a C section on the due date which I can cancel and hope that bubba arrives before (I’m pretty big so wouldn’t surprise me!)

anyway this is just a general anxiety and wondered if anyone else experienced GDB and what birth options ended up being like. Feeling quite stressed out :(

If you are on Facebook and haven’t already, join the Gestational Diabetes Uk support group. It’s a game changer.
