I’m 40+5 today. Have been up since the early hours with contractions every few mins usually lasting around 30 seconds.

Got up off the bed at around 9am and realise I had a “show” / lost my cervical mucus.

Since then - not had any further contractions.

Quite a rollercoaster, could anyone advise if this is normal or if has happened to them?

Hey, sounds like things are heading in the right direction which is exciting! Is it your first baby? Normal to have a lot of stop/start in the lead up to labour. This is the latent phase of labour. You can also experience contractions at night and all disappears by morning due to hormonal factors. This happened to me too. This stage of labour can be disheartening, but it's a time to focus on rest, conserving energy, light activity and relaxation techniques. Eat well and stay hydrated. Have a quick look at optimal fetal positioning to see what you can do to help your baby get in a good position for labour. Best of luck!

Still no sign! Contractions picking up again but not frequent / strong enough
