Is HARD
Every trip to the toilet.
Analysing the toilet paper to check for “colour”
Trying to focus on living a normal life when you know how things can change in an instant.
Im having a tough day today and have always found lovely support on here.
Love to all 💖

Absolutely. Knicker checking each toilet trip and wondering if that wet feeling is discharge or blood. Awful.
One day at a time OP 🤗

Hoppinggreen · 25/06/2025 10:56

I am really sorry for your loss.
I got pg 1 week after my MMC (no idea it was even possible) and I just blanked the fact that I was pg at all until I had no other option.
I do also wonder if it contributed to my PND as I really struggled to bond with DD for 6 months or so.
Be kind to yourself xx

The two miscarriages I’ve had have been around 10/11 weeks and I’m not currently quite there so feeling very negative about the situation until I’m past that mark….
Im fed up of feeling fed up 🙃

I’m going through the same now. Multiple losses and I’m now almost 7 weeks pregnant, it’s so scary. I am so incredibly lucky to have a 5 year old son though.

Have you thought about booking an early scan?

emmatcc1 · 25/06/2025 11:54

Horrible. Absolutely hated the beginning of the new pregnancy. I’m now 23w and doing much better.

Kate3150 · 25/06/2025 12:17

I’m tempted to book an early scan but it’s quite a long way from where I live, so quite a faff (& expense) I’m not sure if it would make me feel better either?
I do try and forget about it then suddenly something will drag my thoughts back down like I went to the cinema last week and I kept feeling maybe I’d had a gush so had to run to the loo to check.
It’s so emotionally & mentally draining 🤯🤯

@Kate3150 it's exhausting isn't it. My losses have all been between 8-11 weeks. I'm 12 weeks Friday and have my scan. Time is moving so slowly currently. I don't have any coping strategies to suggest, I suck at managing my anxiety 🤦

PurpleTurtleMoose · 25/06/2025 13:26

Right? 😔 The constant toilet checks, overanalysing every twinge and cramp. It's so stressful.

I would definitely agree with PP re taking each day at a time.

It goes so slowly though! x

I’m in the same boat as you OP. Currently 6 weeks pregnant and terrified after two missed miscarriages. I feel constantly anxious. My NHS early pregnancy unit offer a reassurance scan after 2 miscarriages so I have mine on Monday. It’s worth checking in with yours to see if they will offer one for you?
both my losses were around 6 weeks and I hadn’t had a ‘healthy’ scan at any point so they are really triggering for me. If I get past 6-7 weeks I feel like I will constantly want to be scanned to make sure all is ok, so that could be expensive!

Kate3150 · 25/06/2025 20:54

@DCmum95- I’ve got my first midwife appt next week, I left it quite late to book as I’ve been burying my head in the sand with it all.
I looked at private reassurance scan and it was about £95, I’m also not sure how long the reassurance would last with me 🙈🙈 !!
I’m just sat here thinking I’ve got through another day….
Thank you for all your kind words today 💛

My epu has a rainbow room where they offer reassurance scans to women on pregnancy after miscarriage. It might be worth looking if yours has the same..

I'm on pregnancy 3 in a year, I miscarried twice at 10 weeks but am now 26 weeks there is hope....and yes I do still check every wee!

I haven’t actually booked my midwife appointment yet, just too scared to! I think after the scan I will actually do that. I would definitely ring your early pregnancy unit to see if they offer scans x

I didn't book mine until after my first scan at around 8 weeks, didn't then have the appointment until after my second scan at 10+4. Put it off as long as I physically had! Eventually had it at 11 weeks...I'm lucky the midwives are super understanding!

Superscientist · 25/06/2025 21:21

My midwife deliberately booked my booking appointments for after my scans at the epu. They'll understand.
I was 10 weeks I think with this pregnancy and they still managed to sort my dating scan for 12 weeks.

Kate3150 · 26/06/2025 08:06

Gosh I didn’t realise all of this about reassurance scans, etc, thanks for all the info, it’s been really helpful!!
Im dreading first midwife appt next week, with the way I’m feeling it just feels pointless going 🙁
Another day- here we go 💪🏻

Yes. I have a scan this morning at 9.50. I’m 8+5 and they want to scan me to ensure they do the NIPT at the right time. My last two trips to EPU with my last 2 pregnancies were not good, so I’m absolutely bricking it, imagining everything from MMC and molar pregnancies to twins (because I’m ancient and my best mate helpfully pointed out the increased chances at our age)…..the anxiety never ends, does it?

Kate3150 · 26/06/2025 08:17

It’s fricking awful, thinking of you this morning and sending all positive vibes your way!
It’s SO hard, I just had a toilet panic with some discharge, think I analysed it on the paper for 5 mins and now I’m running late!!!!!! X

Kate3150 · 26/06/2025 08:18

And full of anxiety 😥

That’s lovely. I’d have loved that.

It’s really hard OP. I had several miscarriages, cause unknown, but went on to have children. The fear gets easier further along. Congratulations on your pregnancy. X

Kate3150 · 26/06/2025 11:31

Yeah it’s the unknown isn’t it, I’m a naturally anxious person so this is extra hard!
Im so pleased you had a happy outcome though, that’s so wonderful!!
Trying to relax and enjoy my day but keep toilet paper checking 😡😤
