Normal for early labour?! Contractions stopped

40+1. Had consistent contractions ranging from 5-8 minutes for over 24h yesterday. They admitted me to the antenatal ward as I was at 3cm and had a VERY fast birth with my first. I was 4cm this morning, but since 10 this morning the contractions have totally died down to about every 20 mins 😭. I've come home as couldn't stand the heat and noise in hosp. Been having a lot of bloody show through the day, but contractions not picked back up at all!

Anyone had similar?! I'm so tired

So sympathetic! That sounds awful and you must be exhausted. I'm not a medical professional but I spoke to my midwife about it for my first. They can absolutely die down especially if you don't feel warm, safe and oxytociny.

Obviously keep checking in with your medical professionals but I can see how the heat and noise of the hospital would be the opposite of what you need in this stage of labour. Rest as much as you can, warm bath with your favourite show and lovely smelling candles, your favourite takeaway and snacks. Cuddles and kisses with your partner. Try and find yourself feeling safe and relaxed.

Wishing you all the luck and tell us how it goes!
