Horrible digestive symptoms second trimester

Hi everyone, I'm 22 weeks pregnant just now. For the first 14-15 weeks I had the usual first trimester morning sickness (no vomiting but lots of nausea) and fatigue which then lifted but as of about 20 weeks I have been hit with so many horrible digestive symptoms.

I'm nauseous, bloated, gassy - from both ends!, constipated and I've got acid reflux and heartburn. I can't sleep properly, I'm trying to eat little and often and as well as I can, avoiding all reflux triggers like citrus and tomato but I just feel crap all the time!

I have rennies and Gaviscon on hand at all times and I'm eating prune yogurt and flaxseeds for breakfast and using lactulose as required. I started on omeprazole this morning but if anything I feel worse today. Obviously I know I need to give it longer but just looking to see if anyone else has experienced similar. I know these are all common issues but having them all at once is a lot! And some of what helps the reflux worsens the constipation and vice versa so it's a bit soul destroying! Thanks if you've read this far and any advice welcomed!

I had very similar symptoms. I was never actually sick due to morning sickness (though felt awful!) but was sick several times due to acid reflux, especially on a night. Thankfully the omeprazole really helped me, so I hope it starts to do the same for you. Other things that helped were using the liquid Gaviscon and sleeping with my head elevated. I really hope you start to feel better soon!

I’d stick with the Omerprazole. It worked well for me. I was also taking Fibrogel twice a day for most of the pregnancy which seemed to help with bloating and constipation.

Go to the gp and get meds. They have slightly helped the symptoms but have not vanished and last night I had horrendous acid reflux but it has helped in the long run.
I don’t eat big meals or past 6pm which can be miserable
I notice when my ribs hurt due to growth acid reflux and heartburn is much worse x

Thank you. I will definitely stick at the omeprazole and give it a chance to work properly - I've heard good things so fingers crossed.

Not heard of fybogel, only lactulose, so will look that up. Hopefully if the reflux is solved, I can eat more fruit again and keep things more naturally regular!
