Low baby growth

Has anyone experienced pre-eclampsia with low growth? Currently 33+6 and told today that baby has dropped to 3rd centile from 10th. I Won't get to see the consultant until tomorrow but im getting myself all worked up about it. She's still moving but im just so worried that something bad is going to happen to her. Is there any positive outcomes with a similar situation here?

With my first, I was told at 38 weeks that he was on the 1st percentile and I was induced.. he was a tiny 5lb3 but he was fine! He did go into NICU for a couple of days but I don’t think that was to do with his weight, he had an infection.

He’s 8 now and absolutely fine! Try not to worry, they often get these things wrong too - I was induced with DD2 because they thought she was on 10th percentile but when she was born at 38 weeks she was 7lb10!

Hopefully seeing the consultant will put your mind at ease a bit x

My dd was delivered at 34.5 weeks because of this, well, similar. I don’t think they were concerned for her growth so much as for the lack of fluid around her. I was being prescribed labetalol for high blood pressure from about 31 weeks and twice I was brought in for overnight monitoring. They gave me a steroid injection in case of needing to deliver early and when they discovered the fluid was down that was it. Nobody actually ever said to me I ‘had’ preeclampsia but they said I was at risk of it.
Emergency c section and my daughter was born, small but breathing on her own and healthy. She stayed in NICU two weeks but that was mainly because of small size, low blood sugar and they wanted to establish bottle or breast feeding (we didn’t manage to breastfeed but I did give her expressed milk).
Shes perfectly healthy now at age 10, development all good. It might be different for you and you might be able to carry to term, but just to reassure you even if you do have to deliver early you and baby will be fine. They monitor these things really closely.

Yes this happened to me. Harder said than done but please don’t worry. My baby dropped hugely in the percentiles in the last stages of pregnancy with pre ecclampsia. He was delivered by c section a bit early weighing 5llb10. But he quickly grew back to where he had been before- he clearly just developed better outside. there have been no issues at all since. He is two now :)

Thank you all definitely some reassurance that things will be ok. I just have to keep faith the Drs will do what's best x

I was told my son was a small baby. He was just under 9lb! They can be wrong. Talk to your midwife about your concerns.

Not a pre-eclampsia story, but I was also induced after we were told growth was reducing in 3rd trimester and at 38 weeks baby’s femur length was 3rd percentile. We were actually warned our son could have dwarfism! They decided to induce me on the spot at my 38 week scan. He was 6lbs 4oz - small, but not tiny. At age 2, he’s happy, healthy and he’s now the tallest toddler I know!! I do know a mum who had pre eclampsia in her first pregnancy - her daughter is a similar age, also happy, healthy, developing normally. She’s since had a second daughter and didn’t have pre eclampsia with that pregnancy.

I know it’s so hard not to worry, but try your best not to. My sister is an obstetrics sonographer and says it’s actually really hard to get accurate measurements in the 3rd trimester.

Just thought i would update on here. My preeclampsia got worse and was induced last week at 35 weeks she was a teeny tiny 4lbs baby so her weight was very small as they suspected but she was super strong and is doing amazing and now at home. I guess all my worrying wasn't needed. Thank you all for your supportive words x
