I’ve just reached 5 weeks pregnant and wanted to share a bit about how things are going so far, in case anyone has experienced something similar.
I’ve had two progressing pregnancy tests using Clearblue – the first showed 1-2 weeks, and then on Friday 21st June it showed 2-3 weeks. I also took a standard line test on Sunday evening around 9pm, and the line came up very quickly and strongly.

I noticed stronger symptoms between weeks 3 and 4 – like breast tenderness and fatigue – which eased slightly during week 4 to 5 but then seemed to come back again.

What’s worrying me a little at the moment is that over the past few days I’ve had some lower back ache and a heavy sensation low down, similar to how I’d feel before a period. I’m exactly 5 weeks today.

I have had one miscarriage before this, and the physical sensations feel somewhat similar – but last time my pregnancy tests weren’t as strong. This time, I’m also on progesterone (vaginal suppositories), which I wasn’t taking previously.

I’ve noticed I’ve been needing to pee more at night too, although I can’t tell if that’s just anxiety-related.

I’ve read online that the back ache and heaviness could be linked to the uterus expanding or ligaments shifting – has anyone else experienced this around week 5?

I’d really appreciate any advice, personal experiences or insights you’ve come across at this stage.
Thanks so much 💛
