11th percentile baby - advice needed!

Baby was on 36th percentile at 29 weeks, then 12th at 30 weeks, then 11th at 34 weeks. Currently 36 weeks, next growth scan is next week. I’ve been warned that if we dip below the 10th an induction may be recommended. Size aside, all looks good.

Has anyone has similar measurements and all turned out okay? And has anyone been induced for this reason and had a generally positive birth experience? I was / am hoping for a birth centre water birth but doctor has warned they may recommend the labour ward and continuous monitoring (if we go below 10th percentile).

Sounds pretty encouraging that growth is normal between 30 and 34 weeks so hopefully all will still be tracking absolutely fine :) I’ve had similar measures x 2 previous babies, laboured before planned 40 week induction, all fine. Best of luck :)

I had a very similar experience and from about 28 weeks I was on weekly scans and they then decided to book me in for an induction at 34 weeks.

However at one of my weekly scans at 32 weeks they told me they wanted to monitor baby and asked me to press a button every time I felt baby move.

Admitted into hospital for 2 days. Gave me steroids to prep babies lungs.

Dr advised we need to take baby out emergency C-section as there were things going on inside out of their control.

They made the right call as hardly any fluid in amniotic sac and umbilical cord looked unhealthy.

Outcome was more than positive and trust in your doctors and the fantastic midwifes

I was induced for a different reason (reduced movement) but baby was also on 17th centile so they thought it was best. If you want to explore your options make sure to ask if they have a handheld monitor, I didn’t know these were a thing. I was able to go to the MW unit and have a water birth as I was low risk on the proviso that we transferred to the labour ward at the first sign of any issue (they were on the same corridor) and the MW used the handheld monitor on me. I understood they also one on the labour ward but couldn’t guarantee it’d be available. Good luck.
