Cardiac activity on early scan

Hi all, I had a very early scan at just under six weeks due to previous early losses and MMC. I was horribly nervous and had been told that they hoped to see the gestational sac and yolk. They did but they were also able to see the start of the fetal/embryonic pole so generally this was even better news. However, they didn’t mention anything about cardiac activity so I assume that there wasn’t any yet.
I am just looking for others who have had a very early scan where a firming embryo was seen without cardiac activity and then this was seen in a scan a week or two after.

I realise that some people will say it’s ridiculously early to be having a scan at all but my doctor wanted to check things due to my previous early losses. I am not going down a rabbit hole, thinking that my baby will not develop any further but I wanted to just hear others experiences so I can prepare myself psychologically either way.

Yes my oldest heartbeat wasn't visible until 7+3 and my youngest was 8+2. I'll keep everything crossed for you, sounds very promising so far 🤞 tentative congratulations x

No, similar situation to you. I had multiple scans in the beginning due to previous losses. I also had bleeding in the beginning of my last pregnancy so had even more scans.

I've never had a scan that early but my EPAU won't scan anyone until 7 weeks as that generally the point at which they'd expect to see cardiac activity for most pregnancies. I've always seen it at scans from 7 weeks onwards (currently on my 5th pregnancy, no kids, so I completely understand your anxiety).

Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly for you. Do you have your next scan booked in?

Ooh, that is really interesting, I must admit I've been really naughty and consulted Dr Google and of course have read hundreds if different views :). I just thought with transvaginal scans they would see it earlier so this is good to know. Thank you so much x
