I’ve had two ectopics during TTC.
the first one was treated with MTX injection.surgery felt drastic given I wasn’t in too much pain or had ruptured. I’d already had some bleeding and felt body was trying to do what it needed so I waited a few weeks (my hcg was low too so didn’t feel the risk of rupture was high).
After weeks of waiting, scans and getting into the 6th week of back and forth, hcg up & down, I was fed up of the hospital and having scans and went for the injection. The injection itself was stingy but I didn’t have much in the way of symptoms from it. Some tiredness I think that was it. Your immune system is a little compromised too so you need to be careful. You can’t TTC for 3m.
second time it resolved itself within a few weeks.
however, it is now known, through a hycosy scan that my tube is blocked and so now I’m trying to get on the wait list for it to be removed (18m apparently). I would have had surgery the second time around to deal with the blocked tube but it sorted itself out.
im now pregnant through ivf as this was the safest (and quickest) route to become pregnant and bypass my tubes.
it could just be bad luck it’s stuck or you could have a blockage, it’s impossible to say at this point. If you don’t feel to anxious waiting, it may suit you to wait a few weeks. Start thinking now though of maybe a cut off point and what you’d do if it doesn’t.
I’d also ask for a hycosy scan after if you do the injection - if anything it can flush debris out if it’s not a full blockage. Heard of lots of women getting pregnant after. Mine however would not flush.
im sorry you’re going through all this, wishing you a speedy recovery xx
