28 day cycle, short leutal phase? Chemical pregnacy

Hey everyone!

just after some honest stories the good and the bad.

been trying to conceive since November 24 and managed to fall pregnant with a positive test 24th Feb(after 3 days spotting) week and half later bleeding starts and had a chemical pregnancy/ miscarriage

I do my BBT every morning at the same time and it does appear I ovulate but around the day 18/19 mark but cycles are 28 days long roughly

I had in my head i have low prostegon and was given day 21 blood test which level was 13 which should be 16 if ovulating and over 21 if ovulated. Doctor said it’s hard to get these tests right but as I got pregnant ‘so fast’ and I’m 27 to just keep trying.

now onto my 4th cycle feeling deflated I started ovulation tests again and got a positive on day 18 and a lower reading in the 19th and app has predicted day 19 ovulation

periods keep being light for first 2-3 days then get about 2 days where tampons required the cycle I got pregnant the period lasted 9 days which is same for this cycle just waiting till next week to see if anything’s worked

just wanted to know if anyone has been in similar situation as doctors won’t help as I got pregnant

Sounds like you're doing everything right with tracking etc, sometimes it does take a while though 😕

I know it's frustrating but I wouldn't be too concerned in your situation yet, it seems like things are mostly normal for you. Did you do the 21 day blood test actually on day 21? If so the reason yours would be a bit lower is because you ovulate on day 18/19, so you should have the test on around say 24ish for it to be more accurate. 21 is only for people who ovulate on day 14 really. 10 day luteal can also be normal. It can take up to a year to conceive, which I know sucks to hear when you're going through it but it is normal. Fingers crossed for you it happens soon 🤞 I had a 11 day luteal phase, and a light period and it took 6 months to get a positive.

@Wednesdayonline thank you ! It was day 20 I think it’s hard to decide what day is first day of period as can be so light for a few days but the light starts and leaves 28 day cycles. You just read so many things says 10 days isn’t enough and ovulating day 19 ect but as I got pregnant before doctors won’t help as deem I don’t need help yet short leutal phase can cause more miscarriages

I had a miscarriage in Feb and everyone since then I have been ovulating around day 18/19 with a 28 day cycle, so very similar to you. Am also having the small amount of bleeding at the beginning of my period.

I too am worried about my progesterone, especially after having a miscarriage at 6 weeks.

No advice from me, but just wanted to say I'm in the same boat and can understand how you're feeling.

Wishing you all the best and hoping it happens quickly for you

I was very similar to you, paid a lot of money to get tests which were all normal. The consultant told me to throw all ovulation tests away and not measure temperature anymore as it causes stress and this prevents pregnancy, just have sex every other day. Was SO HARD to actually follow his advice but I did and then got pregnant the following month. You are young and haven't been trying that long (although it feels like a long time) so try to relax and don't bother with all the testing.

@PickleThePenguin so sorry for your loss! I think I’ve been ovulating that day even more everything happened which even more so won’t get me any help with the doctors as ‘well you did get pregnant and so many people due have a miscarriage’

hope we both get the happy news we are after !

@Marmite1992 yes that’s what’s the doctors said to be only this cycle I did ovulation tests as I didn’t think I’d ovulated last 3 cycles based on CM. For me it would cause more stress worrying what is my temp so I still do it for my sanity

I think the hardest bit for me is the having sex every few days 😂

yeah from the miscarriage we did take positives we knew things worked which puts us in a good position just the worry there’s something wrong with me and will need help to make one stay around.

i think you spend so long thinking about trying we took a year to ensure it’s what we wanted so for me it already feels like a year and a half of trying when it’s been only 8 months with the miscarriage inbetween
