Biologicals for Psoriasis

Hi, I’m wondering if anyone else is taking biologicals for severe psoriasis and is also pregnant or trying?

I’ve been on Cimzia for 2 months with clear skin but now I’ve moved to 1 injection every 2 weeks my skin is getting bad again.

Is there other injections that are okay to be on pregnant or trying to get pregnant? I plan to start trying soon but nervous because of my skin and possibly having to change medication again.

thanks x

Hi, I was on Humira for 10+ years, however was switched to Cimzia when I told my consultant that I wanted to conceive as I was told this was the safest option available for conception/pregnancy. I’m currently 22 weeks pregnant and stopped Cimzia at about 18 weeks pregnant as, if you continue on Cimzia for the entire pregnancy, baby cannot have any vaccinations until they’re 6 months. My psoriasis has flared slightly since being off Cimzia, although I generally found it less successful than Humira anyway. I’m just trying to tell myself that all of the patches, itching and bleeding skin will be worth it when baby is here! I haven’t tried this with Cimzia, and I would discuss with your doctor about whether this is an option, but when I was on Humira I found taking 2 jabs together every 4 weeks worked better than 1 jab every 2 weeks.
