Flat facial features

Hi, this is my 13 week 1 day scan and all appeared to be ok at the appointment and sonographer said everything looks ok however I am having to go back for 4 weekly scans and just wanted opinions on the face and skull on my scan? Thank you!

Could it just be that baby's head was turned to the left?

The sonographer is the expert. Do you have anxiety?

It looks like baby was moving their head around? Did the sonographer make any notes about facial shape?

Trust the sonographer. Talk to your midwife if you are in doubt.

If they said everything is fine I would trust that. The baby is still so small and it’s hard to get the features on picture, some don’t bother taking a perfect picture. Their face is also not developed completely yet, they showed me a 3d version at the 12 week scan and my baby looked scary. The doctor was laughing that he was opening his mouth while I was in shock if he looked normal.

if you need to go back for 4 weekly scans they must be monitoring something? I couldn’t even get 1 extra between 12-20 after 3 losses, ivf pregnancy, bleeding throughout first trimester and a bleed in 2nd!
i think the scan is probably just a bad angle and if sonographer was not concerned then no reason for you to be!

My scans for baby were not great! I was quite anxious about it too, but he was perfect when he arrived. If sonographer said all is good then I would trust her, after all your scans are for them to check baby is ok, rather than you getting to see baby
