Has anyone suffered itchy feet in pregnancy? My feet are constantly burning and Ive been told its pompholyx. I have huge blood blisters on the soles of the feet and can't get rid of it. I havent slept in a month and am struggling to walk. Drs have just suggested creams but they arent working. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks

DP was told he had pompholyx - it probably wasn't.
Tried loads of different things - in the end he used the strongest Daktarin cream twice a day for about a month. Completely slathered his feet in it and it work. His feet were horrible and the transformation was amazing

I have pompholyx. I needed a v strong steroid ointment to get rid of it. Can you see a dermatologist?

Have you had a blood test to rule out oc in pregnancy ?? Google itchy feet in pregnancy I can’t remember the full name for it but it needs to be checked ! Do your hands itch too?

AhTheFuckening · 20/06/2025 06:37

I get pomphylox on my hands when I'm stressed, and sometimes a little bit on my feet. I get lots of tiny blisters, and it can be really itchy.

How sure are you of the diagnosis?

I hope you get some relief soon OP.

Cholestasis or ICP.

OP you should ask them to do the bile acid test to rule it out.

my feet and hands both flared with this before I had allergy tests (turns out I was allergic to chromate and cobalt) however the dermatologist I saw prescribed steroids and a potassium permanganate soaks - this is also recommended on the main eczema website. Suggest you check it out with GP due to your pregnancy for and contraindications but I found them a great help (although not great in the summer as your feet do look as if they’ve been soaked in tea). Lots of emollient and cotton socks helped too. My soles and palms were red raw and cracked and I feel your pain, hope you get on top of it quickly.

thanks everyone, ive had the liver checked and results are fine. Its concerning that the lumps on my feet are red/black in colour and seem to be getting bigger and more painful. They seem to be spreading and growing in rings. I can't take steroids due to the pregnancy and I think the potassium soaks are out of the question too

It's the colouration that you mentioned that made me think this might be something different - the tiny blisters I get are clear.

littleweedandherflowers · 21/06/2025 13:30

Not being rude but is your poo and wee a different colour ? Please phone your midwife and ask to be retested x

Radionowhere · 21/06/2025 13:37

I've have it but not as you describe, mine is clear blisters, unbelievably itchy. I use zerobase cream twice a day, which definitely helps control it, and steroid creams when I have a break out. Can you take an antihistamine for the itching?

aneeta86 · 21/06/2025 19:48

Ive tried an anti histamine but its not working. Poo and wee all normal. Im now thinking the soles of the feet are not pompholyx and are something else as its big red/black lumps in rings, which seem to have increased in size with the heat and are spreading :( have enquired with private dermatology to see if I can get a consultation
