Fragmin injections - missed a dose!

Hi wondering if anyone can help, I am currently 7 weeks pregnant and have miscalculated my Fragmin injections and don’t have one for tonight! Really worried has anyone had any experience of missing one?

They are prescribed along with progesterone and immunosuppressant as part of reoccurring miscarriage protocol. Thanks xxxxx

Hi I’ve been taking the injections for 31 weeks now and there have been a couple of times I’ve forgotten but taken the dose once I remember.
I wouldn’t worry as this is a build up of meds for your blood and not resetting every day if that makes sense.
i am also on asprin in the evenings (something they put me on around 11 weeks) so if I were you have a couple of asprin
honestly though please don’t worry just get your injections as soon as you can. One dose will not be make or break x

Awwww thank you that is so reassuring 🥲 how many weeks did you start taking them? I got mine at 4 and have literally had a reassurance scan today and seen a heartbeat for the first time this pregnancy so have had a lovely day then finally after so much worrying then came home to no jab! I will take it in the morning though so hopefully should be ok! I did consider an aspirin too yeah thank you! Xxxxx

Wonderful news 🥳 that is fantastic.
i started the meds at about 5 weeks pregnant after several miscarriages.
i also had a very early scan …very anxiety inducing but with the meds your pregnancy has a good a chance as a ‘normal’ one. It’s taken me to the third trimester to feel confident but baby is doing well and I’m so grateful.

I’ve had 6 scans in total with 2 more before baby is born.

do not worry about missing one dose, it’s absolutely fine. You’ll also be out on asprin in a few weeks x

Awww thanks so much for your reply! Yes I was absolutely terrified today but we made it through it, still can’t believe it!

your story sounds so similar to mine I had two losses last year so I sought private fertility treatment once I was pregnant again and the doctor prescribed Fragmin, progesterone and a steroid. I am so grateful as without it I’m not sure things would have progressed this far! Hoping things continue!

So amazing to hear how well your pregnancy is going ❤️❤️❤️ how lovely!!

Thank you I have been panicking but I’ve got prescription to collect first thing so will do a jab then! And yes I’m on aspirin from 12 weeks anyway so may take one now?

Thanks so much again for replying it really means so much xxxxxxxx

I've been on Fragmin since 6 weeks now 21 and 4 days and I've missed a few. I take them at night and some nights I just felt so weak, sick or unwell (I had a viral infection from 7 weeks that really wiped me out) that I just couldn't also face the pain, stinging and effort that come with injecting myself.
Other than a stubborn little baby everything is going fine so far.
Originally antenatal clinic was gonna do blood tests every 2 weeks to check my levels but hematology were happy so I've not been tested since about 10 weeks.

Awww I’m glad to hear your pregnancy is going well ❤️ sorry to hear you were unwell that must have been really tough! I know exactly what you mean about the injections, they really sting! Thank you for your reassurance too I feel a lot better about missing one knowing others have, suppose it will only be one day xxxxx

It was probably worse when the EPAU put me on the wrong dose, had me I after 2 weeks to check bloods and never rang me with results on the Friday, I chased on the Wednesday and asked for another prescription. They asked me to go and collect prescription and whilst I was waiting were like can you just have a quick chat with the doctor a minute. Doctor was like we've thinned your blood too much and don't want to risk you bleeding so we will try a lower dose and in 2 weeks get your bloods checked again.
Since going onto the lower dose I'm not bruising half as much, now I just get a little dot bruise with the occasional bigger one but on the higher dose every injection was a big bruise and they hurt more too.

Awww really! God it’s so frustrating when things like that happen! Glad you got it sorted! Yeah I have some bruises from the jabs, some a lot worse then others for some reason! I also found the second batch I got were different syringes and hurt less but I’m back to the others from tomorrow 🤦🏻‍♀️

I've definitely found different boxes are all different, the one I'm using at the moment I've had a few where I've struggled to push the plunger down and found the next day I got a hard lump where I injected. I've also drawn blood that was noticeable twice in this box and before that I've maybe had a spot of blood that isn't really noticeable.
I got 4 months worth so you would think they would all be similar

Bradley28 · 19/06/2025 21:26

I had to come off fragmin before I had my son and had to time it approx 24 hours before I was due in, so I guess that’s how long it’s in your system for x

Ahh really the difference is surprising! I’m collecting my new lot this morning hope they’re ok! I get lumps under my skin from them sometimes too and some bruise much worse than others and I can’t work out why!
