Evap or faint positive?

Hey everyone,

Please be kind as it’s my first time posting on here. My period is due on the 24th but as most became quite anxious in waiting until then to see if my period arrived before testing as I started to experience light cramps as though my period was coming from Tuesday which is not usual for me. Usually I feel PMS 1-2 couple of days before my period not 7! Although they have started to ease now. So I’m even more confused.

Anyway, I have tested today and couple days before which I know is considered early & all have shown negative.

I today bought a 6 day early CB test along with a strip test. The strip test was negative and so was the CB until I went back to it a bit after and thought I could see a very faint line, after doing some research I have seen that CB can be quite notorious for “evap lines”.

I completed my test early afternoon so I am mindful that this was not first thing in the afternoon.

I think I know the answer myself which is that this is more than likely a negative test rather than a faint positive. But I just wanted to hear people’s opinions.

I do plan to wait until the 24th to see if my period does come or not before testing again.

I have attached an image to this post, I’m mindful that the line is very faint & I had to use the flash to capture it (you may have to zoom in).

I’d say evap with it being after the time frame. I’ve heard the pink dye tests are much better

That looks a bit positive to me tbh.. the line on my clear blue was similar aswell and I am pregnant lol

That looks like the first CB I took (pic attached) currently 16 weeks.

I did take another test & same thing as before. I’m going to wait to test again or wait to see if my period does arrive on Tuesday

update: this was taken yesterday it’s a boots early test, I could see a faint like within the 5 min timeframe which became darker outside of this timeframe. I’m losing my mind & so confused to whether this is a Evap line or faint positive. The early tests are quite pricy so I’ve been using the standard boots strips along side but they’re negative. So confusing. Period due to start today or tomorrow so I guess I’ll just have to wait & see

There is a line there for sure and it doesn’t look like an evap to me! It has colour! Maybe take a first response or cb to confirm

I have a CB so going to try and test again later

I thought this but I think when I took a test with the strip this morning it was negative so I was confused. Unsure if it’s because it wasn’t an early detection test I had used

Your last one looks positive to me. I am hopeful for you because I got the same lines as you on the clearblue this morning and want so much for it not to be an evap line ha. Please update us!

The strip will be less sensitive. The Boots early ones detect 10miu. You are pregnant. Congratulations!

@New2This22 I taken another test a few hours ago & although still faint shows more than the Tesco one taken this morning, either that or my mind is playing tricks and I neeeeed to sleep🙈
AF is due in a few days so still early to test…

I had that with the early tests being faint pos in afternoon then next morning negative then again very faint positive. He is now 7
That pink dye test looks very positive to me!! I’ve taken at least 100 tests over 10 years of having babies and that I can see from a mile off! Congratulations!

Was you using the same brands or different ones? It’s only the boots one that showed that line within the timeframe for me. I’ve used CB and the boots strips and i would have thought lines would have started to show by now. My period should have started yesterday and it still hasn’t come. I have another boots test to use tomorrow morning I just feel a bit in limbo and still unsure, according to my flo app I should have ovulated 10th June so I don’t know if I’m testing too early and if at this stage hcg should be rising instead of staying the same ? 🤔 never been pregnant before or been in this situation so it’s all new to me. Stressful x

I taken a Boots one today as the false positive stories on the other ones didn’t make me feel 100%. I didn’t go for the line one on CB as I’ve also read of a few inaccurate readings on those too on the Boots website.
I did the Boots early test at lunch time today and the Clear Blue like an hour after as I couldn’t wait lol..
Try the digital Clear Blue as I think they’re more accurate - my Boots test looks identical to yours!

They were all the same make first response.
I wouldn’t say you are testing too early I would normally get a positive around 8/9 DPO. It’s still early days though and I would always stress myself out comparing each test. You could try the boots test tonight I always found I got a darker line at night x

Just thought I’d update you all, I suspect my previous test was an evap!! continued to test negative on other tests and then yesterday I started having light spotting which was light pink, and now appears darker today like a period, no excruciating cramps like I usually get but I suspect it is my period x

That was probably a CP, as that early Boots test was definitely positive rather than evap. I‘m sorry 😢
