I’m worried

So I’m 11 weeks pregnant today and I’m starting to be a bit worried. My sickness and snappy hormones suddenly have disappeared. I had the symptoms with my other three children now I’m very arsey because I lost a pregnancy at 10 weeks a few years ago and it’s playing on my mind. I’m due my 12 week scan 2nd July. Do you think if I went to the maternity ward they scanned me earlier just to give me peace of mind.

You'd need to go to EPU rather than maternity as maternity don't tend to deal with issues this early in pregnancy, but I'm not sure if they would scan you for a decrease in symptoms on its own. Do you have any bleeding or cramping? All I would say is try not to read too much into symptoms being there or not - you're around the stage where they often tend to fade out, so it could well be nothing. Fingers crossed for you.

I’ve just rang my maternity assessment unit and she’s more or less said to me because I’m 11 weeks symptoms could change but I’m quite arsey because I’ve had miscarriages before my youngest daughter and I don’t want it to be where I go for my 12 week scan and there’s no heartbeat, it’s like history repeating itself I’m just quite on edge but I think I guess the more I stress it could cause more. I’m not getting no cramping and no bleeding so I guess that’s two good factors but I will monitor my symptoms and yes of course every pregnancy is different.

What about a private scan OP? Sound like unless there's a problem you'll have to wait for your NHS scan......but it's less than 2 weeks away. Not too long to wait!

@Mumto3soontob4 I totally understand your anxiety. I've had 4 missed miscarriages, all discovered at scans. But even for those, my symptoms were all different. For one I was still so ill and throwing up right until the point I had surgical management. Symptoms are often a poor indicator of the success of a pregnancy. If you're really worried I'd book a private scan as PP has suggested. Hopefully all will be well ❤️‍🩹

I think I’ll wait two weeks time for the NHS scan. I’m probably just overthinking too much into my last pregnancy. I went for a 12 week scan at first and lost it 10 weeks and that was a missed miscarriage then my second one I always blame myself for because I didn’t give my body enough time to recuperate. I lost it six weeks.

I had the same experience as you OP. My symptoms went at 10 weeks and I was so anxious. I read somewhere that the placenta starts taking over at this point so you start to feel better around this point. Everything turned out to be OK and I'm writing this with my 6 month old fast asleep on me.💖

@WonderingAboutBabiesThats brilliant. I started feeling the nausea again. I think I’m just going too much into my past pregnancies. I’m stressing myself out because I don’t want to be in the same place as I was before
