Is it exactly the same brand test, done using first wee of the day? And how early? I've never heard of a positive test before 9 dpo.

Or it could be a chemical pregnancy, ie, egg fertilises but fails to implant.

TBH, the best way to do it is (a) wait til period is due then (b) pee on stick, put it down on a flat surface, walk away for 5-10 mins then look at it. If you can see a line without picking it up, it is positive. If you have to squint/hold it up to the light/ dissect it etc et cI wouldn't trust it.

Google peeonastick.com, it#s a great site with everything possible about pg tests. Best of luck!

A chemical pregnancy is one where embryo implants but the pregnancy fails before it is big enough to be seen on US (approx 5 weeks) at which point it is called a clinical pregnancy. Embryos do not produce HCG until after implantation (which occurs approximately 6-7 days after fertilisation) if you have a positive pregnancy test then HCG is present.

I had a positive test at 9dpo this time - a squint to see it +ve but dh could see it - it was much darker the next day. If you want to test early you have to accept that the results may not be clear cut, I've always had a perfectly obvious, clear positive at 12dpo though.

Thank you both. I checked out the link and it was very helpful, thanks.

It would be a pregnancy whilst on combined pill so impossible to date.

Bleeding took place 2 weeks before 7 pill free days and now no bleedon the pill free days. So really unsure of dpo.
